Gerard Louis Sharp was the son of the founder of Goldring and he ran the company as a family business =, and then as a public company until he eventually selling it to John Gay of Veda in the early 1990s. The Gerard Louis Limited Edition was a special version of the first MC cartridge that we made called the Goldring Electro. The Limited Edition came with a boron cantilever and solid silver windings and had a wooden cover, but was otherwise the same as the standard cartridge.
The modern equivalent in the current line-up at 2026 would be the Ethos SE.
