The two designs are very similar which means that the HX and LX are now much closer in performance – however, the fewer windings on the LX means that the moving mass is still even lower than the HX, and because it must work into an MC phono stage input, it can be loaded with variable impedances to achieve the best electrical match with your equipment. This is not so easy to do with the HX which is designed specifically to work with your existing MM phono stage.
