Q. Which Goldring cartridge is suitable for my Rega tonearm?
Answer:
Rega tonearms do not have a facility to easily adjust VTA (vertical tracking angle). The 2000 series has a height from diamond tip to mounting point of 18.5mm which is within the typical range for most cartridges, however we believe that this may be about 1mm more than most of the Rega range of cartridges.
Luckily, the
2100 has a bonded elliptical tip which means that it has a broad range of VTA settings within which it will track properly. In other words, it won’t make any difference with this particular tip what the VTA is set at.
Another option would be to either add a 1mm shim under the base of the arm (not under the headshell), or perhaps consider the
E3 or
1006; both of which have a tip to mounting point dimension of 17.5mm, which means they do not need to have a shim fitted on a Rega arm.

EROICA - Q. Will a Goldring EROICA cartridge be compatible with my Naim ARO tonearm?
Answer: Unfortunately the EROICA has a tip to mounting bolt distance of about 11mm, so I'm afraid that it would not be compatible with a Naim ARO tonearm. The ARO was designed for LINN 3 point mounting cartridges such as the Troika, and luckily LINN ...
